Today, I want to talk about email marketing.
Email marketing is still one of the best ways to reach your audience but too often I hear people use the term email blast.
Now, blast kind of implies that you’re going to be taking the same information and sending it to your entire list all at once, but really you should be segmenting your list, this means you’re going to send specific information to specific people at specific times.
Now, if you’ve never done this before, it sounds a little bit intimidating but it’s easier than it sounds and one of the easiest and best ways to use this and segment your list is to use birthday information of your audience.
So, the way this works is that you want to be able to send an email to parents before their child’s birthday.
So, let’ say for example, you want to send an email 6 weeks before a child’s birthday and then another one 3 weeks before the birthday.
The purpose of these emails is to remind them, “Hey, Suzie’s birthday is coming up, why don’t you go ahead and book it with us!”
Book now button right there in the email.
Now what this is going to do is it’s going to remind parents to book that party because they may have forgotten, they may not have been thinking about her or maybe they didn’t have anything planned and this reminder is perfectly timed to be able to capture their attention and capture that revenue.
One of the best parts about this process is that it can and should be automated, you can use an email marketing software or something, like MailChimp or something similar to be able to automate this process.
Now, you might be wondering, “Where do I get this information?”
Well, you can use a software that you’re probably already using whether that’s going to be something like CenterEdge software or Party Center software or FetchRev, or any other type of database where you’re capturing your guest’s information.
And if you’re not using any software to capture a guest’s information, start using it immediately because you’ll be able to capture things like their birthday and then use that to your advantage and leverage your email marketing to deliver the right messages at the right time.
What this will do, is it will increase your email engagement but more importantly, it’s going to increase your birthday revenue.
