For many fun centers, weekdays tend to bring lower traffic. Most people have school, work, and other life obligations during the week. With all these different commitments, a trip to your family entertainment center may not be top of mind. Having one or more weekday promotions is a great way to get more traffic through your door on those traditionally lower traffic nights. Though your weekend traffic will, at least for the most part, always be your heaviest traffic, that doesn’t mean you can’t increase your weekday audience. Check out some ideas for offers you could run during the week at your fun center.
All You Can Play
An All You Can Play (AYCP) offer generally gives guests unlimited gameplay of one or more attractions during a specified time frame for one set price. The price point for an AYCP offer should be based on the number and type of attractions included, but should be a fair enough price point that it creates a strong incentive for guests to come in and participate. Time frames generally range from 90 minutes to a few hours.
Reduced Price Attractions
A common offer we see from family entertainment centers is 50% off attractions on a certain day of the week, but there are other ways this offer could be executed. An attraction discount could also work well if run multiple days per week for a specified time period. For example, you might consider something like 50% off all attractions Monday to Wednesday from 7pm until close. Or, if you have a multi-attraction location, you could encourage the purchase of more attractions with a discount that scales up with the number of attractions purchased (30% off 1, 40% off 2, 50% off 3 or more).
Buy One, Get One
Buy One, Get One (BOGO) offers are common in many industries. From food, to retail, to fun centers, a BOGO deal can be a great way to get more business in the door. Similar to the other offer types, there are a variety of ways that a BOGO can be framed. If you have a certain attraction that you are trying to bring more traffic to, you can try offering the deal just for that attraction or offer that attraction for free with the purchase of another, more popular attraction. You also could offer other items such as arcade credits or food and drink with the purchase of a particular attraction.
The best offer for your fun center will depend on a variety of factors such as the attractions you offer, your location, and the client base in your area. If you aren’t sure what will work best for you, consider trying something out for a few weeks. If you don’t see the success you were hoping for, you can always make adjustments and run a new offer later on.
