How long has it been since you last updated your website?
First impressions are everything, especially when it comes to your business.
Our recent 2021 Online Booking Study revealed that more customers are using their
phones to check out facility websites and book parties than ever before.
Follow our four simple website updates this year if your goal is to continue making great first
impressions and engaging new (and returning) customers.
1. Perform an Audit of Your Current Website
View what your current website looks like on a desktop, tablet, and smartphone. This allows you to put yourself in your guest’s shoes. How would you feel about your facility’s website if you were a guest?
Ask yourself the following questions:
- Is it easy to navigate?
- Are the colors aesthetically pleasing?
- Are there clear calls to action?
- Is the information you have up to date?
Your ultimate goal is to create incredible guest experiences. If a guest has a poor first impression of your facility’s website or they can’t find what they’re looking for, they will consider it a negative experience. This is why great website branding and functionality are pivotal to any business’s success!
2. Implement Changes
It’s easy to become overwhelmed when implementing any change. However, you can always take things one step at a time. If you can add a simple call-to-action today or more images tomorrow, it’ll be worth it!
Whether you already have a great website or are just getting started, we can all benefit from some inspiration. Check out these great FEC websites!

3. Update Your Pictures
Updating your pictures regularly is one of the best website updates you can make.
Remember, the pictures you use should not just be of the attractions in your facility. They should showcase your customers enjoying themselves at your FEC.
(Note: To protect yourself legally, include a clause in your online waiver requesting permission to use photographs of customers in your facility for marketing purposes.)
4. Update (Or Add) a Customer Testimonial Section
Happy customers are your best marketers.
Prioritize asking customers you know had a great time at your facility to leave a review on your Google My Business listing or to provide you with a quote so you can “show off!”
Add these testimonials to your website as proof of your commitment to positive, memorable customer experiences.
If you’re still wondering why you should update your website, consider this: if you’re looking for an unfamiliar restaurant or trying to buy a specific item online, what would you look at to make your decision?
THE REVIEWS!
The more positive and current reviews you have, the greater your chances are of converting more website visitors into paying customers.
